Freelance Opportunity: Document Formatting Specialist
Work with CIGRE, the Global Technical Reference in Power Systems
CIGRE is seeking a skilled Document Formatting Specialist to assist in the preparation of our Technical Brochures, ensuring they comply with established templates and guidelines. This freelance role will involve collaborating with authors and Working Group members as needed to support the publication of high-quality technical documents. The editor will be in communication with the Secretary General and the Publications Manager at the Central Office in Paris.
Key Responsibilities:
- Format Word documents according to CIGRE’s official templates and style guidelines (technical skills required: managing equations, cross-referencing, table of contents, styles in Word etc.).
- Ensure consistency, professionalism, and technical accuracy in document layout.
- At the request of the Working Group Convenors, communicate with authors to address formatting questions or clarify requirements.
- Prepare the final Word document for publication, ensuring it meets CIGRE’s standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in document formatting with advanced Microsoft Word skills.
- Strong understanding of document templates and style guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate with international teams and work independently.
- Experience with technical or scientific documents is a plus.
