Methodology for Oscillograms Analysis and Condition Indicators Assessment by Automated Algorithms for Circuit-Breaker Diagnostics

Switching devices are crucial for grid protection, automation and control (PAC), and their importance will grow as the energy transition advances and more renewable distributed energy resources are integrated. To ensure reliability, the condition of switchgear is evaluated through scheduled inspections, often out-of-service, such as visual or infrared assessments, routine testing, including timing, contact resistance, and insulation tests, as well as continuous in-service monitoring of indicators like gas pressure, contact wear, etc. [1].
