It’s that time of year again, when we call on you to renew and continue your part as a member of the world’s leading power system community. To follow are some of the great reasons why.
During the last two years, CIGRE’s Technical Council has been working on clarity around our position in the energy transition. As the electricity leader, it’s clear CIGRE will play a key role with new entrants joining our ranks. Your membership and our community will help the energy transition deliver the decarbonisation humanity needs.

A productive year
Aside from progress on the energy transition, CIGRE has had a highly productive year across its technical programme and websites, including:
- Two successful symposiums; first in Muscat, Oman and then Cairns, Australia. Where our colleagues at CIGRE Australia helped break all the records, with over 1300 delegates in attendance!
- Record levels of Working Group participation and Technical Brochure production.
- A new version of eCIGRE live now!
- A new version of session.cigre.org.

Looking forward to 2024
As we head into a Paris Session year, we are excited by the levels of interest the event is generating. Our Technical Council has had the challenging task of reviewing the 1700 synopsis for Session papers. A 70% Increase!
The Session is looking like it will be the biggest one yet. In 2024, we are also extending the membership discount for the event for those who have been members for less than two years.
Overall, our wider technical programme is continuing to grow, and we expect 2024 will see more records broken. A further and exciting development will be the eCIGRE 2.0’s second phase. You can read about that here.
