CIGRE Fellows 2026 Recipients
The "CIGRE Fellow" award is attributed for active participation in the activities of the technical work of the Study Committees and for providing a lead technical role in the Study Committees (maximum five awards every two years).
The Recipients 2026 are:
Udaya ANNAKHAGE
In acknowledgement of his outstanding contributions to CIGRE’s technical activities within Study Committees C4 (Power system technical performance), B4 (DC systems and power electronics) & C2 (Power system operation and control), as convener of several Working Groups, and as the Chair of the Canadian National Committee.
Nirmal-Kumar NAIR
In acknowledgement of his significant contribution to the activities of Study Committee B5 (Protection and automation) as Green Book editor, Technical Brochure co-author, and Special Reporter, and of his contributions to CIGRE New Zealand National Committee and CIGRE Asia-Oceania Regional Council.
Balint NEMETH
In acknowledgement of his sustained international technical leadership and outstanding contributions to the activities of Study Committees A2 (Power transformers and reactors) and B2 (Overhead lines), and as Task Force leader, and Convenor of several Working Groups.
Simon RYDER
In acknowledgement of his outstanding long-term contributions to the activities of Study Committee A2 (Power transformers and reactors ), as Chair of this Study Committee from 2016 to 2020, and editor of the Green Book on "Transformer and Reactor Life Management" published in 2024.
Pierre VAN DYKE
In acknowledgment of his significant contribution to the activities of Study Committee B2 (Overhead lines) as a member of several Working Groups, as Special Reporter during the Paris Sessions, as the Chair of Study Committe B2, organiser of technical events in Africa, and as co-chair of symposia in Montreal in 2025 and Bangkok in 2027.
