Life of the association

CIGRE Honorary Members 2026

Every Session year the "Honorary Member" award is granted to maximum ten members who have proven participation in CIGRE technical activities in a leadership role of CIGRE, and for members whose service of CIGRE has been judged exceptional.

The CIGRE Honorary Members are:


Richard J. ADAMS

In recognition of his dedicated contribution to CIGRE Study Committee B5 (Protection and automation), as Secretary from 2018 to 2024, and active member of several Advisory Groups.


Enrico Maria CARLINI

In recognition of his long-standing contribution to CIGRE over more than 20 years of membership, as Chair of the Italian National Committee and member of CIGRE Administrative Council and Steering Committee.


Geir CLASEN

In recognition of his significant contribution to CIGRE as Chair of Study Committee B1 (Insulated Cables) from 2022 to 2026, and for his active leadership in the preparation of the CIGRE Trondheim Symposium in 2025.


Kurt DEDEKIND

In recognition of  his valuable contributions to CIGRE as Chair of Study Committee C6 (Active Distribution Systems and Distributed Energy Resources) from 2022 to 2026, as co-organiser of CIGRE events in Africa, and as member CIGRE One Grid initiative.


Liisa HAARLA

In recognition of her outstanding and long-standing dedication to CIGRE over more than 40 years of membership, as Chair of the Finnish National committee and member of the CIGRE Administrative Council, member of the Technical Council from 2016 to 2018 and as member of the Steering Committee from 2018 to 2024.


Pablo Rodríguez HERRERIAS

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to CIGRE as Chairman of the Ibero-American Region of CIGRE (RIAC) from 2019 to 2025 and previously as RIAC Vice-Chairman from 2015 to 2019. 

Joanne HU

In recognition of her significant contributions to CIGRE as Chair of Study Committee B4 (DC Systems and Power Electronics) from 2020 to 2026, and as co-chair of the CIGRE Montreal Symposium in 2025.

Antonio ILICETO

In recognition of his significant contributions to CIGRE and to Study Committee C1 (Power System Development and Economics) as Chair from 2020 to 2026, as organiser of CIGRE events in Africa, and as CIGRE representative on the Advisory Committee on Transmission and Distribution (ACTAD) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). 

Pascal MUELLER

In recognition of his significant contributions to CIGRE and as Chair of Study Committee A2 (Power Transformers & Reactors) from 2020 to 2026.

Peter RODDY

In recognition of his 25-year contribution to CIGRE activities as Secretary of Study Committee C1 (Power System Development and Economics).
