CIGRE Medal 2022 Recipients
Every Session year, the "CIGRE Medal" is granted to maximum two members of CIGRE, in recognition of an oustanding contribution to the development of CIGRE (either administrative or technical achievement).
Dr. Rob Stephen (South Africa)
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the activities of the Association, as Chairman of the South African National Committee and Chairman of Study Committee 22 "Overhead lines" from 2000 to 2004, after convening several Working Groups and serving as Special Reporter. He was a member of the Administrative Council and of the Steering Committee, and was President of CIGRE from 2016 to 2020. He continues to provide his leading role as Chief Editor of CIGRE Science and Engineering Journal since 2020.
Mohamed RASHWAN (Canada)
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the activities of the Association, as Chairman of the Canadian National Committee and Chairman of Study Committee B4 “DC systems and power electronics” from 2014 to 2020, after serving as member and convener of several Working Groups. He was an active member of CIGRE Administrative Council and Steering Committee for fourteen years.
