ELECTRA in 2025: Growing readership and global reach

A quick overview of the main website trends, top content, and international readership.

In 2025, ELECTRA continued to grow its audience and strengthen its international reach.

This short overview highlights the main website statistics, the most viewed content, and the growing interest in Technical Brochure summaries. The figures below are based on ELECTRA website analytics, with a specific focus on 2025 and comparisons with previous years.

2025 in numbers

51,581 sessions Number of visits on ELECTRA
30,192 Unique visitors Distinct users

In 2025, the number of unique visitors increased by 2%, reaching 30,192 readers, and sessions grew by 6% to 51,581 visits (comparison vs 2024).
This shows that more users visited ELECTRA and returned more often during the year.

More visits, fewer pages, stable time

While sessions increased in 2025, total page views decreased compared to 2024. This means users visit the site more often, but they view fewer pages per visit.
This may indicate more direct access to content, less browsing between pages, or changes in how users navigate the website.

Importantly, average session duration remains stable (around 3 minutes 50 seconds). This suggests that users are not necessarily spending less time on ELECTRA, but they may be reading fewer pages.

Top content in 2025

Top 5 excluding Technical Brochures summaries

In 2025, the most viewed pages included both editorial articles and key institutional information, such as the Call for Papers for the 2026 CIGRE Session. Several technical topics, including electricity markets and digital twins, also attracted strong interest.

Technical Brochure summaries: strong and consistent interest

Technical Brochure summaries continue to attract strong attention on ELECTRA.
In 2025, several TB summaries were among the most viewed technical pages, confirming their role as an accessible entry point to CIGRE Working Group outputs. This performance supports the value of publishing TB summaries as part of ELECTRA’s editorial strategy.

Global readership and growth by country

Beyond content performance, the data also highlights ELECTRA’s international readership.

ELECTRA continues to be read worldwide. In 2025, key countries showed growth compared to the 2022–2024 annual average baseline.
Notable increases include India (+59%) and France (+56%), confirming ELECTRA’s growing reach across regions.

Overall, the 2025 figures confirm a stable and growing interest in ELECTRA content. The increase in unique visitors and sessions shows that more readers are coming to the website and returning more often during the year. At the same time, the stable session duration suggests that readers continue to spend a similar amount of time on ELECTRA, which reflects sustained attention to the content. Another very positive signal is the strong international reach of ELECTRA, with visible growth across many key countries in 2025 compared to previous years. This confirms ELECTRA’s role as a global platform to share knowledge and connect the CIGRE community worldwide.
Finally, the continued success of Technical Brochure summaries highlights the value of making Working Group results more accessible and visible to a wide audience.

We would also like to sincerely thank our readers for their continued support of CIGRE through their engagement with ELECTRA, and through the other platforms and resources made available by CIGRE. Your interest and participation help strengthen the community and contribute to the visibility of CIGRE’s technical work worldwide. These results encourage us to keep developing high-quality editorial and technical content, and to further strengthen the link between CIGRE expertise and ELECTRA readers.
